With winter bearing down on us and almost two feet of snow on the ground I should be thinking about skiing, but my thoughts are still on bikes. With bikes on the brain here’s the latest random bike post of the things I’ve been scoping recently on the interwebs.
The Moots pictured above is from the Moots blog and is the first of their brand to get outfitted with the new XX1 drivetrain. Given my recent fascination with a single ring up front this definitely got my attention, and it’s interestingly on the recently updated MX YBB. It’s a cool mix of classic bike with new school components, so the next question of course is how much does it weigh?
I’ve been working on a repaint/powdercoat project and in the process discovered some positively awesome Speedvagens. This gold one is pretty rad- lustrous metallic paint, ISP with the brake cable routed through it and the trademark Vanilla attention to detail.
On the other end of the Speedvagen spectrum is this one. The color is close to the their armored truck service vehicle and is a much more subdued, Campy & SRM equipped model. Still totally dope.
I’m not really a fan of battery powered shifting, but on this lilac Speedvagen I think it’s alright. Lilac is actually a color I seriously considered for my aforementioned project and could be on something in the stable before too long.
Rounding out my Speedvagen streak is the recent off-white team paint scheme. The brown tape totally fits- and the attention to detail is pretty spectacular. How can you not dig the painted hubs and Porsche Unicorn spoof logo?
